stella girl
Stella girl. I don’t know the person I was before I met you. We’ve climbed three mountains this week together just after sunrise. It has become my church, a place of respite I’ve found in my desperate search for solitude and goodness while the world burns down around me. You are patient on the trail; you are loyal. You give space where and when it is due, and you smile at everyone we pass. When I offer water, you drink deep, splashing your face deep in the bowl, making me belly laugh. Mile after mile you climb alongside me in tandem gait. Keeping me company while I find myself again, in the trees. When we encounter someone unfriendly or fearful or impatient or angry, you do not fight. You forgive, forget, and forge ahead. You literally shake it off. You have changed me, and I am forever grateful for the daily lessons I learn from you. I love you. Let’s do it again next week 🤗🤗🤗
